A Wonderful Christmas at Hurawahli, Maldives
Glorious white-sand beaches, spectacular underwater world and unrivalled luxury are just some of the things that make Maldives the perfect destination for a dream holiday. The pretty little islands are like the glistening jewels floating in the turquoise blue sea, a paradise for romantics and beach lovers. This is the world of indulgence in every sense.
Often people think that there is nothing to do in the Maldives… They couldn’t be any more wrong! You can spend days walking along stretches of powdery white-sand beaches, swimming and diving in translucent waters peppered with rich coral reefs and teeming with fish, or fishing, getting indulgent treatments in some of the best spas in the world.
This Christmas, we spent the most wonderful week at one of the best and newest resorts in the Maldives, Hurawahli.
Hurawahli is one of the most exciting new hotels in the Maldives, set on an enchanting island in the pristine Lhaviyani Atoll. The resort is particularly famous for its 5.8 Undersea Restaurants, the largest underwater restaurant in the world located 5.8 meters below sea level (hence the name and the pictures below were taken inside).
Hurawahli has been perhaps my favourite hotel so far: I loved the understated luxury and unobtrusive yet efficient service, fantastic dive centre, minimal interior design, and sunset facing champagne bar. This is a truly heavenly resort, and almost everything was perfect. There are 90 villas in total as well as three wonderful restaurants and whole array of recreational and soothing activities to choose from
